4th EDITION CAMEROON ARBITRATION WEEK

Welcome to the 4th edition of Cameroon Arbitration Week (CAW), taking place from May 14–16, 2025, in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Organized by Nkafu Arbitration Services (NAS) and Friends of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FoCG) under the global framework of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), this year’s CAW aims to strengthen arbitration and ADR in Central Africa and showcase Cameroon’s growing influence as a regional hub for dispute resolution.

NAS - FoCG Monthly meeting

I write to invite you to our next monthly meeting scheduled to take place virtually on the 28 November 2022 at 5 pm Cameroon time. Our guest speakers for this meeting are Chief Gbola Akinola, SAN, C.Arb, Chair of CIArb, Nigeria Branch, Nania Owusu-Ankomah, FCIArb, Chair CIArb, Ghana Chapter, Dr. Karen Akinci, FCIArb, Course Director, CIArb.

After the presentations by our guests and the Q&A session, there will be updates on the planning of Cameroon Arbitration Week 2023, which is scheduled to take place between 22 to 27 May 2023 in Cameroon. We shall also have an update as to preparations for the next training and assessment for those interested in the introduction to ADR and International Arbitration course to become associates of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The training and assessments will likely take place around the second week of February 2023 in person in Cameroon or virtually, depending on the more feedback we get from you as to what you prefer. From what we have heard most people are interested in having the training in person.

The FoCG events are promoted by Nkafu Arbitration Services (NAS) and are open to anyone interested in becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators within the OHADA region.

The meeting shall be jointly chaired by the presidents of FoCG His Lordship Justice Abednego KALLA BEA, of the Supreme Court of Cameroon, and Mrs. Marie Andre Ngwe, the President of the GICAM Arbitration and Mediation Centre in Cameroon.
